Webinar: How can children participate in assessing the realisation of their rights?

Webinar: How can children participate in assessing the realisation of their rights?

How can children participate in monitoring and reporting on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child? How can we make the concluding observations the State Parties receive child-friendly and ensure children can use them to hold governments accountable?

Central Union for Child Welfare has been exploring these questions in a two-year, EU-funded project, together with SOS Children’s Villages Finland and partners from Scotland and the Netherlands.

In the “Our CRC” project, we produced a youth-friendly version of the Concluding Observations issued to Finland by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. We also piloted various online and offline methods for children’s participation in evaluating the implementation of their rights.

On 27 October, from 13:00 to 14:30 CET we host a Sharing & Learning webinar (Teams) where we share our experiences and lessons learned: what did we do; what worked, what didn’t – and what we hope will happen next.

This webinar is meant for everyone interested in developing and advancing children’s right to participate: civil society actors, public authorities, ombudsmen for children and other human rights actors.

Join us to learn, discuss and network!
